Sayulita is a village on Mexico’s Pacific coast backed by the Sierra Madre Occidental mountains.

Sayulita Plaza connects an abundance of restaurants, shops, and galleries selling artworks by Huichol indigenous people.

The village is known for beaches with strong surf, like the central Sayulita Beach. To the west, Los Muertos Beach is more sheltered, sandwiched between protective rocks.

As for shopping: this is where you’ll find an amazing selection of beautiful handmade goods - from high end boutique shopping to super affordable street vendors.

Know Before You Go!

Getting around: Going on foot is the way to go, and the village is small enough that you will likely be able to walk (always use common sense while out and about, but it is safe!) The walk to Playa de Los Muetros is about 20 minutes. For those looking to speed things up, many visitors get rentable golf carts on site to get around.

Language: although Sayulita is definitely a small Mexican town, many folks won’t be speaking English. But, because it is so tourist minded, you’re never far from someone who does. Don’t be shy to ask for help and make a new friend!

Cash: Find cash ahead of time, as ATMs are scarce and known for also….well, likewise being on ‘vacation’.

Tipping: it is customary to tip 20%, where customary. The town works hard to keep Sayulita a place worth visiting, let them know you care by being generous in giving back financially to this special pueblito.
